Surviving the Current Climate of Fear

Clients come to Catalyst Coaching® LLC for many reasons but all of them have to do with change.  Here are just a few scenarios:

1.  You are stuck in a job you dislike.  You need to find a new direction in your life and a new career path.  You know changes need to be made but you (a) haven't made up your mind what direction you'd like to target; (b) you can't get motivated to actually make any changes; or (c) you have been sending out resumes and doing job interviews and simply aren't getting anywhere.  You need a coach!

2.  Your relationship needs designing or redesigning.

Designing a Relationship

Two people entering a relationship go through many hoops to solidly ground their relationship into one that will withstand time:  (1) communication; (2) direction; and (3) lifestyle are just three areas that EVERY couple should consider before they decide to make a commitment to a relationship.  Most of us don't actually design a relationship, we let it happen to us, making unconscious adjustments to our initial wants, needs and dreams along the way that can be resented later.  Pat has a pre-marital relationship coaching track specifically for new relationships that want to last.

Testimonial:

We feel so solid.  We're not getting married with a chance of making it work.  We're getting married sure of ourselves and the skills you taught us.  We're not hoping the other person changes.  We're helping and supporting each other, for life, no matter what.  Thanks, Pat! - Judy & Reese

Redesigning a Relationship

The passage of time, addition of stress and changes within a relationship (such as children) can cause a loving relationship to veer off-course.  You need a relationship makeover!  It's never too late to discover your true needs and desires, reconnect to your values and design a brighter future.

Testimonial:

We were discussing our separation when someone gave my husband your business card.  He went online before he asked me what I thought.  I really didn't think it would make a difference but I agreed to meet with you.  Neither of us knew what life coaching was, but we sure got it when we met you that day.

Today, three years later, we have never been happier and we've never had the deep understanding in our relationship that you helped us find.  I guess we were desperate and hopeless.  We felt like we'd never be close again.

We're so glad we decided to enter relationship coaching with you, we can't even express how much.  We're especially happy for our kids - now they're going to know what it's like to grow up with two parents who are there for them.  That's the biggest gift. - Toni and Bill P.

Ending a Relationship

Yes, even ending a relationship can be done with more honesty and respect, less resentment and turmoil, if you have a coach to guide you through the process.  Sometimes, despite our best efforts, it's best for both parties to move ahead in different directions in their lives.  Designing a "happy divorce" can allow you to avoid blame, shame and bitterness and, yes, you can even support each other through the dissolution of a relationship.

Testimonial:

Pat, we've moved on.  Happily so.  Neither of us thought we'd do it this easily.  You saved us so many bad feelings, and thousands in attorney fees.  We both have a lot to look forward to, and we don't regret anything - that's the big difference.  You kept us honest and "above the line" in our behavior with each other.  We wouldn't have even known that line existed without your input.  We're very grateful for everything we learned while you were our coach.  Yes, a "happy divorce" can happen.  Thank you.  - MaryEllen and Tom

Testimonial:

Coaching has been much more effective for me than therapy. The therapists I have had never challenged my beliefs. But, Pat really did. She took situations that I saw as purely negative and reframed them so I could think of them in a positive way. She taught me how to take negative thoughts and replace them with empowering ones. That’s what made it possible for me to change my actions.

Pat also gave me the extra push I needed to do things I was afraid to do. She helped me ask for what I needed in my marriage. It led to my divorce. But, the truth is that I had settled. I wish I had signed up for coaching with Pat before I got married (I was seeing a therapist instead). It probably would have saved me a lot of time, money, and heartache.

I’m so glad I had Pat to help me with my divorce. With her, I was able to process my feelings much more quickly than I usually do. Plus, she helped me see my divorce as a victory instead of a failure. Because of my work with Pat, I am able to see a lot of things differently now. It has made my life much easier. Everything feels lighter!  -- J.P.

3.  You are challenged, stressed or unfulfilled with your current life and lifestyle.  You might want to create a romantic relationship, chart new life territory, or rediscover passion in your life

The first step to creating new avenues in your life is to gain clarity on what you want to create, then make a plan to achieve what you want.  Too often, we "hang around" in life, hoping and wishing something new will happen.  Coaching, a proactive and positive approach, relies on action, not wishing and hoping!

4.  You just got promoted, or you want to begin your own business or other new venture.

When the pressure is on, a coach can provide support, a sounding board, and a wealth of experience on which to rely.  With 8 out of 10 new businesses failing, and economic worries proliferating, a coach can be the difference that spells success.  New positions require new communication and leadership skills that don't just happen with the new title beneath your name.  Make your new venture a success by putting a coach in your corner.
